Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Metro Group"), formerly known as Shenzhen Metro Co., Ltd., was established on July 31, 1998 with the approval of the State Council. In 2009, it was renamed Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 2.99 billion yuan. Its business scope includes the construction and operation of urban rail transit projects, the comprehensive development of metro resources and Metro properties.

The general business items are: construction, operation, development and comprehensive utilization of subway and light rail transit projects; investment in industry (specific projects will be declared separately); domestic commerce, material supply and marketing industry (excluding franchised, specially controlled and monopolized commodities); advertising business; self owned property management; rail transit related business consultation and education and training.
