Shanghai international port (Group) Co., Ltd. is the largest port enterprise in mainland China. The group has experienced the restructuring of Shanghai Port Bureau and Shanghai international port (Group) Co., Ltd. It was initiated and established by Shanghai state owned assets supervision and Administration Commission and China Merchants International, and was officially established on June 28, 2005 with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce of the people's Republic of China.

The group was officially listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange on October 26, 2006. Since its listing, the market value of the group's shares has risen steadily, and the market response is good. At present, it is operating in accordance with the standard of joint-stock enterprises. In August 2016, Shanghai international port (Group) Co., Ltd. ranked 432 in the "2016 top 500 Chinese enterprises". On May 9, 2018, the "2018 top 100 Chinese brand value list" was released, and Shanghai Hong Kong Group ranked 62nd. On October 11, 2018, Forbes released the list of the world's best employers in 2018, and Shanghai Group ranked 210th. On September 1, 2019, the list of top 500 Chinese service enterprises in 2019 was released in Jinan, and Shanghai international port (Group) Co., Ltd. ranked 155th.
