The national flag is rectangular and the ratio of length to width is 5:3. The flag is white, with a yellow map of Cyprus in the center and two green olive branches under it. White symbolizes purity and hope, yellow symbolizes that Cyprus is a country of copper mines, and green olive branch symbolizes peace and prosperity. It also shows the yearning for peace of Greece and Turkey.
