Somalia national flag consisting of a light blue field with a central white star. It has a width-to-length ratio of 2 to 3.
Story:
The national flag is rectangular and the ratio of length to width is 3:2. The flag is light blue with a white five pointed star in the center. Light blue is the color of the United Nations Flag, because the United Nations is the founder of the trusteeship and independence of Somalia. The five pointed star symbolizes the freedom and independence of Africa. Its five corners also represent Italian Somalia (now known as the southern region), British Somalia (now known as the northern region), French Somalia (now independent djibouti), and parts of Kenya and Ethiopia.
