Yellow accounted for 1 / 2 of the flag, blue and red each accounted for 1 / 4. The national emblem is painted in the center. Yellow, blue and red are the colors of the national flag of the former Republic of Colombia. Yellow symbolizes the wealth, sunshine and food of the country; blue symbolizes the blue sky, the ocean and the magnificent Amazon River; red symbolizes the blood of patriots fighting for freedom and justice.
