How Choke Manifold Works
When the well pressure increases, the well fluid can be released to control the casing pressure by opening and closing the throttle valve on the choke manifold (manual adjustable, hydraulic and fixed). When the casing pressure is very high, it can be directly blowout through the gate valve.
Composition and structure of Choke Manifold
Choke manifold parts include throttle valve, gate valve, pipeline, pipe fittings, pressure gauge, etc.
The Use of Choke Manifold
Choke manifold is the necessary equipment to control well kick and implement the pressure control technology of oil and gas wells. When the BOP is closed, use the opening and closing of the throttle valve to control a certain casing pressure to maintain the bottom hole pressure slightly higher than the formation pressure, so as to avoid further inflow of formation fluid into the well. In addition, the choke manifold can be used for pressure relief to achieve soft shut in. When the well pressure rises to a certain limit, it is used to blowout to protect the wellhead.
