Wuhan Boiler Co., Ltd., formerly known as Wuhan boiler factory, was founded in 1954. It was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1998 with a registered capital of 297 million yuan. It is one of the large-scale backbone enterprises of power station boilers in China. In August 2007, Alstom, one of the world's top 500 companies, successfully acquired 51% of Wuguo shares and became the controlling shareholder of the company. In September 2009, Wuguo Co., Ltd. moved to the new plant in Wuhan Donghu New Technology Development Zone and started operation. The new plant has the ability to design and produce large capacity and high parameter boilers, which plays an important role in the group's global clean energy strategy.
On November 2, 2015, Ge completed the acquisition of Alstom's power and grid business, and Wuhan Boiler Co., Ltd. officially became a member of GE power generation's steam power system. This historic acquisition is of great significance to both sides of the alliance. The complementary technological advantages of the two sides will provide global customers with more complete power generation solutions, more diversified energy product portfolio, more extensive power services and coverage, and enough scale to help reshape global energy.
