Shenzhen Nanshan Thermal Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company" or "Shennan Power Co., Ltd") was established in April 1990. It is a joint-stock enterprise with Chinese and foreign capital mainly engaged in the general contracting, technical consulting and technical services of power plants (stations) with power supply and heating. In November, 1993, with the approval of Shenzhen Municipal People's government, the company was formally reorganized into a joint stock limited company and issued shares publicly. In July and November 1994, the company's a and B shares were listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange respectively. As of December 31st, 2019, the total share capital of the company is 602762596 shares.

Since its establishment, the company has been adhering to the development strategy of gas turbine power generation and upstream and downstream industries. While continuously improving management level and expanding the production scale of power generation, the company has successively involved in the related fields such as gas turbine power plant engineering construction, oil trade, gas turbine power generation technology training and other related fields, and strive to move towards a diversified and cross regional direction. The company's subordinate holding and participating companies include seven domestic and foreign enterprises, including Shenzhen new power industry Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Shennan Electric Gas Turbine Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Shennan power (Zhongshan) Power Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Xiefu Energy Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Shennan electric environmental protection Co., Ltd., Shennan energy (XINJIAPO) Co., Ltd., and China electric investment Jiangxi Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.
