Guangzhou Shenzhen Railway Co., Ltd. (the company) was incorporated in Shenzhen, China on March 6, 1996 in accordance with the company law of the people's Republic of China.
In May 1996, H shares (Stock Code: 0525) and ADSS (Stock Code: GSH) issued by the company were listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Co., Ltd. (Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE); in December 2006, the A shares (Stock Code: 601333) issued by the company were listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company is the only railway transportation company listed in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York.
The company mainly deals with passenger and freight transportation business and long-distance passenger train transportation business of Shenzhen Guangzhou Pingshi section railway, and cooperates with Hong Kong Railway Co., Ltd. in the business of direct train passenger train transportation. The company also operates railway facilities technical comprehensive services, commercial trade and the establishment of various industries and other businesses consistent with the company's purposes.
The company operates Shenzhen Guangzhou Pingshi Section Railway with a business mileage of 481.2km, which runs through the whole territory of Guangdong Province vertically. Among them, Guangping section is the south section of Beijing Guangzhou railway, the North North artery of China Railway; the Guangshen section is the only railway channel to Hong Kong from the inland of China, connecting Beijing Guangzhou, Beijing Kowloon, Sanmao, Pingnan, Pingyan and Hong Kong Jiuguang railway, which is an important part of China railway traffic network. Guangzhou Shenzhen railway is one of the most modernized railways in China, the first railway with full closure and four parallel lines in China, and the first railway to realize the passenger and freight separation.
