Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973. With the approval of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government in November 1992, Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical General Factory and other five enterprises established joint-stock enterprises through restructuring. In November 1993, as one of the first listed companies in Guangzhou, it was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange and now has a total share capital of 469 million yuan. In 2007, the sales volume reached 3.61 billion yuan, and in 2008, the sales volume exceeded 4 billion yuan. Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a famous garden enterprise in China, which is located in the east foot of Baiyunshan with luxuriant trees and beautiful scenery. The company was listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1993. It is one of the earliest listed companies in China. At present, the company has nine pharmaceutical production enterprises, with total assets of more than 2.5 billion yuan, annual sales revenue of more than 2 billion yuan and total profits and taxes of nearly 300 million yuan. It is the most powerful large-scale well-known enterprise in China's pharmaceutical industry. In 2002, 78 pharmaceutical listed companies ranked the first in terms of operation status, the fourth in terms of core competitiveness and the fifth in terms of company value.
In 1992, the company was approved by Guangzhou Economic System Reform Commission (sggz [1992] No. 11) and reorganized on the basis of five pharmaceutical factories including Guangzhou Baiyunshan General Pharmaceutical Factory under the former Guangzhou Baiyunshan Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. and established as a standardized joint-stock enterprise according to the document of sggz [1992] No. 31 issued by the State Commission for system reform. The company issued shares to the public and was listed on Shenzhen stock exchange with the stock code of 000522 in 1993 with the approval of No. 31 (1993) of China Securities Regulatory Commission and No. 265 (1993) of Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
