COFCO Biochemistry (Anhui) Co., Ltd. is a large backbone enterprise involved in the deep processing of agricultural products in China's biochemical field and a national leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization. It was established on August 28, 1998, and its stock was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange on July 12, 1999 (Stock Code: 000930). The company has total assets of 7.2 billion yuan and nearly 10000 employees. Its main production bases are citric acid production area, amino acid production area, fuel alcohol company and thermal power company in Bengbu City. The enterprises outside Bengbu City include MAANSHAN biochemical company, Suzhou biochemical company, Fengyuan oil company and Dangshan pear company. There is a national enterprise technology center. On December 8, 2006, COFCO Group signed an agreement with Bengbu Municipal government and Fengyuan Group to transfer 200 million shares of COFCO biochemical (20.74% of the total share capital) held by Fengyuan Group, becoming the largest shareholder of the company. In 2010, the company achieved an operating income of 6.7 billion yuan, of which 186 million US dollars were earned through export.
