Macao established an electric lamp company in 1904 to build a power plant in machiaoshi to provide more than 1000 lights for lighting. After investment in France, Britain and Germany, the electric light company expanded its business. Because the Macao government did not allow the price fluctuation, the electric lamp company suffered operating losses in 1967. The electric light company, in consultation with the Macao government, was allowed to adjust the price of electricity, and then turned the losses into profits. In 1972, the electric light company formed the board of directors and was renamed Macao Electric Power Co., Ltd., jointly run by the government and the people. In 1973, two 20000 kW steam turbine units were installed on the road ring Island, and officially put into operation in 1978.
Setting up the background
Due to the need of Macao environmental protection, the Macao government was preparing to build a waste incineration power plant in the 1980s. Because of the domestic garbage brought by more than 400000 residents and many tourists, the local government is also overwhelmed. Therefore, the treatment of it has become a difficult problem for the municipal government. Three incinerators with a total capacity of 12000 kW were purchased from Japan to build the incineration power plant, which was connected to the grid in 1992. There are more than 60 operators. In 1984, Guangdong Province built two 110 kV lines from Zhuhai to connect with Macao power system, which provided power and improved the power supply quality of Macao. Since 1906, the company has signed a regular franchise contract with the Macao government, and signed another 25 years in 1985. As the name implies, this is authorized by the government, and the company operates electric power. Power monopoly is a feature of Macao. The power supply of Macao began in 1906. During the past 60 years from 1906 to 1972, the power industry in Macao has been managed by the head office established in Hong Kong, and changed to Macau Electric Power Co., Ltd. in 1972.
In 1978, aodian started to build a road ring power plant in the south end of the road ring island. In the first phase, two coal-fired condensing steam generating units were installed, each of which was 20000 kW, totaling 40000 kW. In 1981, with the support of Macao authorities, the power generation and distribution system was improved. The company gradually went on the regular economic and technical level, and the two generating sets were unable to meet the increasing demand. On the one hand, in 1981, a compensation trade power supply contract was signed with Guangdong electric power company. The power transmission and transformation project from 220kV Jiangmen to Zhuhai and two circuits from 110kV Zhuhai to Macao was built by Guangdong electric power department. On the other hand, in order to build emergency power station for emergency, Macao power plant was built in Macao Peninsula in 1983, and 4 medium speed four stroke diesel generator sets with a total of 3200kW were installed.
By june1984, Guangdong electric power company began to supply power to Macao, and Macao power grid began to become an integral part of Southern Power Grid in China, which improved the flexibility of power supply in Macao. So far, aodian has three power sources, namely, Luhuan power plant, Macao power plant and Guangdong Province, and the power supply has greatly improved. In 1985, Macao authorities signed a 25-year franchise contract with Macao Electric Power Co., Ltd. in 1987, Macao authorities transferred the rights of Macao electric power.
After the reform of aodian, it focused on the development of local power, and determined the direction of developing low-speed diesel generator set, mainly to expand the road ring power plant. In 1987 and 1988, two low speed diesel generating units with 24000 kW were built and put into operation in Luhuan power plant, and in 1991 and 1992, two 36000 kW low-speed diesel generator sets were built and put into operation in Luhuan power plant; In 1995 and 1996, two 50000 kW units were built and put into operation. Almost every 3-4 years, two units were put into operation. The capacity of single unit is larger once and again. At present, the total installed capacity of Luhuan power plant has reached 260000 kW, which has become the main power plant of Australian power plant.
In order to solve the problem of household and industrial waste, the Macao authorities decided to build three waste incinerators, one 12000 kW power generation unit and the rest for sale to Macao power in March 1987. The first phase project was completed from April to November 1992, the second phase was completed on November 11th 1992, and the project was opened on December 5, 1992. After the reorganization of AADC, with good service quality and appropriate investment strategy, the power supply in the region has been growing, and all aspects of the work of AACC have been on track.
