Shanghai Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai Diesel Engine Co., Ltd.) was founded in April 1947, formerly known as Wusong manufacturing plant of agricultural machinery company of China, and has produced 5 horsepower gasoline engine. After the founding of new China, Wusong machine factory was renamed, and it has produced a batch of single cylinder horizontal 750 RPM 12 hp diesel engine. In August 1953, it was officially named Shanghai Diesel Engine Factory, and began to design and manufacture diesel engine by itself. In 1958, the first 6135 diesel engine, which was designed by itself and fully domestically, was born here, which created the first stage of manufacturing medium power high-speed diesel engine in China. In 1964, 6135 diesel engine was the first T120 bulldozer in China, and passed the whole machine appraisal. In 1969, it successfully provided the first ZL40 loader in China, and established the position of Shangchai as the main power supplier in the domestic engineering machinery industry. In 1993, it was restructured into a stock listed company. When the system was restructured, the registered capital was 480million yuan and the total assets were 2.3 billion yuan. At present, Shangchai company has become a national super large high-tech enterprise integrating development, design, manufacturing and marketing. Its business scope covers diesel engine, fuel system, diesel generator set and investment management enterprise.

The company mainly produces diesel engine, natural gas engine, dimethyl ether engine and hybrid power for trucks, buses, construction machinery, agriculture, ships and power generating units. The power range covers 100-1000 horsepower, and the emission can reach Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards, and the products are distributed in China and all regions of the world.

At present, Shangchai has formed 105, D114, 121, p11c, j08c, 135/g128 series, and more than 300 varieties of complete product structure, and exported to more than 50 countries and regions. D6114B diesel engine and natural gas engine which meet euro Ⅱ emission standard have also been put into the market in batches, which meet the needs of power equipment such as construction machinery and vehicles and the personalized requirements of each user.

Provide on-site technical training for group customers with more than 5 diesel engines for construction machinery and more than 10 diesel engines for vehicles; assembly, test run, inspection and on-site technical training for the main engine plants with more than 50 diesel products.
