China International glasses exhibition was first held in Shanghai in 1985. In 1987, the exhibition was changed to be held in Beijing. It was approved by the Ministry of foreign economic relations and trade of the people's Republic of China (now the Ministry of Commerce of the people's Republic of China) at that time, and became an officially recognized international spectacles exhibition. Since the glasses industry is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of light industry (now China Light Industry Federation), the exhibition has been sponsored by the Ministry since that year. In 1997 (the 10th session), China Optical Association changed the English name of China International Optical Fair to "China International Options fair", which showed the status of the fair at home and abroad, and the participation and support of international optical industry merchants. The exhibition is regularly held in Beijing every September. The exhibition has a history of 29 years up to 2016. In the past 29 years, the scale of the exhibition, regardless of the area, the number of exhibitors and visitors, has been expanding and increasing, which proves that the exhibition has established a solid position and influence in the industry.
