China's primary aluminum output fell for the fourth straight month in August, touching its lowest level in more than a year, as supply tightened due to production and power restrictions in major producing regions, official data released Wednesday showed, according to foreign news on Sept. 15. China is the world's largest aluminum producer.
China's primary aluminum (electrolytic aluminum) output in August was 3.16 million tons, up 0.4 percent from a year earlier, while January-August primary aluminum output was 26.08 million tons, up 8.3 percent from a year earlier, according to data released Wednesday by the International Bureau of Statistics.
China's output of ten non-ferrous metals in August was 5.3 million tons, the lowest monthly level in a year, up 0.4% year-on-year; January-August output was 43.16 million tons, up 9.1% year-on-year.
