Indonesia's LPT, an emerging bauxite producer, received 2.2 million tons of bauxite export quotas a month ago, a source at the company revealed.
"We received 2.2 million tons of bauxite export quota a month ago," the source said. The mine is located in West Kalimantan and mainly supplies high-grade bauxite Al2O3 49%min. The project's initial annual capacity is designed to be 1.8 million tons, and they plan to start bauxite production early next year, with infrastructure construction currently underway and an 11-kilometer road scheduled to be completed in three months.
The current Indonesian bauxite Al2O3 49%min ReSiO2 3%max China c.i.f. price is at 53-54 USD/dry ton, up 1 USD/dry ton from the end of last week, and the capesize freight rate is at 15 USD/ton high.
