The Recycling Branch of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNMIA) announced on its official website on Thursday the third batch of enterprises certified as domestic consignees of recycled copper and aluminum raw materials. These companies are eligible to import imported copper and aluminum scrap.
China has banned the import of solid waste from 2021 for environmental reasons. But given the high price of base metals, importing scrap metal has helped reduce the need for foreign raw materials since China has issued two similar lists, opening an opening for scrap metal trade.
The third batch of certified importers totaled 66, mostly from the major foreign trade provinces of Zhejiang and Guangdong.
In addition, a third party is conducting on-site verification of foreign supplies due to the impact of the foreign epidemic. The third batch of foreign suppliers will be released later on the qualification list.
