Shaanxi Natural Gas Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the company) is responsible for the planning, construction, operation and management of the long-distance natural gas pipeline network in Shaanxi Province. It is a large-scale state-owned comprehensive natural gas supplier with the construction and operation of the long-distance natural gas pipeline network as the core and integrating the downstream distribution business.

The company, formerly known as Shaanxi Jingxi natural gas transmission Co., Ltd., was established on January 20, 1995. On January 19, 2001, Jingxi natural gas company changed its name to Shaanxi Natural Gas Co., Ltd. after equity restructuring. In September 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce (SZP [2005] No. 230), it was changed into a Sino foreign joint stock company with less than 25% foreign capital on November 1 of that year. On August 13, 2008, the company's shares were officially listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange, with the stock name of "Shaanxi Natural Gas" and the stock code of 002267.

On July 1, 1997, the Jingbian Xi'an (Xianyang) natural gas pipeline, which was constructed by the company, was completed and ventilated, which opened the prelude to the transformation of PetroChina's natural gas resource advantage into economic advantage in Ordos Basin. After 20 years of development, the company has built 11 long-distance natural gas pipelines, including Jingbian to Xi'an first, second and third lines, Xianyang to Baoji, Xi'an to Weinan, Baoji to Hanzhong, Guanzhong ring line (Jingyang Qianxian Meixian section), Xi'an to Shangluo, Hanzhong to Ankang, Yihe Yanliang double line and Guanzhong ring line control projects, with a total mileage of nearly 3000 km and an annual gas transmission capacity of 13 billion yuan 48 off load stations, 90 valve chambers, 7 compressed natural gas (CNG) market cluster projects, 1 emergency equipment center and 3 maintenance and repair centers have been built, forming a gas transmission trunk line network that runs through the north and south of Shaanxi and extends the East and West wings of Guanzhong, covering 11 cities (districts) in the whole province.
