Longyuan Electric Power Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as Longyuan Electric Power Technology Development Co., Ltd., was established in January 1993 under the Ministry of energy of the people's Republic of China. In June 1999, Longyuan, Zhongneng and Fulin were merged and reorganized into Longyuan Power Group Company. At the end of 2002, the company was transferred to China Guodian Corporation in the power system reform. In July 2009, with the approval of the state owned assets supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the company was officially restructured into Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd. On December 10 of the same year, the company was successfully listed in Hong Kong, becoming the first state-owned new energy power generation enterprise to be listed overseas, and was honored as "the first share of China's new energy" with a remarkable IPO of 17.7 billion yuan.

The company is mainly engaged in the design, development, construction, management and operation of wind farms. At the same time, it also operates thermal power, solar energy, tidal, biomass, geothermal and other power generation projects, and provides consulting, repair, maintenance, training and other professional services to wind farms. As of the end of 2013, the company's holding installed capacity reached 14.073 million kilowatts, of which the installed capacity of wind electric control unit reached 11.91 million kilowatts, continuing to rank first in Asia and China and second in the world. In recent years, with the rapid growth of wind power installed scale, all operating indicators are in the leading position in the industry, and the company's profitability has been steadily improved. In addition to the installed capacity and operating efficiency, the company takes the lead in exploring overseas market, offshore wind power, high altitude and low wind speed wind power and other new development fields.
