Acoma's predecessor has entered China in 1984. Due to the reorganization of total's chemical business, Acoma group was established in 2004 and headquartered in Paris, France. It is a leading manufacturer of special chemicals in the world. The group has three business departments: high performance materials, industrial special products, coating solutions, and each business department has four business units. Among the business areas in which arcoma is involved, 90% of its sales are in the leading position in the world, and the industry units including special polyamide, fluorine gas, PVDF and sulfur chemical industry rank first in the world. Akoma's products are used in a very wide and diversified end market, including automobile, electronics, transportation, cosmetics, luxury goods, sports and other industries.
Akoma's business is all over the world. According to the data of 2012, the global annual sales of arcoma reached 6.4 billion euros, of which 40% were in Europe, 34% in North America and 26% in Asia and other countries. China accounted for 50% of arcoma's Asian sales, or about 10% of arcoma's global sales.
