Shenzhen Energy Investment Co., Ltd. was established by Shenzhen Energy Group as the sponsor. The company's stock was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange in September 1993, referred to as Shenzhen energy, stock code: 000027.

On December 20, 2007, Shenzhen Energy Investment Co., Ltd. acquired the equity and assets of Shenzhen Energy Group Co., Ltd. through non-public offering, realizing the overall listing of Shenzhen Energy Group Co., Ltd. The company's asset scale and competitive strength have been greatly improved. On April 7, 2008, Shenzhen Energy Investment Co., Ltd. changed its name to Shenzhen Energy Group Co., Ltd.
