Maodi was founded in 1981 under the name of "meter International Corporation". It started with the design and production of advanced measuring instruments, and then joined the solar photovoltaic industry. In 1997, it established the photoelectric business unit, becoming the first solar cell manufacturer in Taiwan. The original measuring instrument department was called the instrument business unit. In response to the expansion of the company's business, Moody's changed its English name from meter International Corporation to Motech industries, Inc.

Combined with maodi's professional knowledge of instruments and solar energy, and on the premise of promoting the use of solar energy, maodi established the electric power division in 2002 to engage in the design and installation of solar photovoltaic system, so as to reduce the environmental pollution when generating electricity. In 2003, "modern technology for a sustainable world" became maodi's corporate slogan to emphasize our belief in maintaining a sustainable environment. Since 2004, maudi instrument division has started to research and develop solar inverter, a key component of solar power generation system. In early 2012, the assets of measurement instrument division of maudi instrument division were sold to B & K Corporation, a long-term cooperative customer, in order to focus more on solar energy industry. In May 2012, maodi further merged the instrument business division and power business division into the instrument and power business center, integrating the resources of these two departments, hoping to provide customers with more professional and complete services.

Maodi's headquarters and business divisions are located in Taipei and Tainan. In addition, it has set up subsidiaries in China, Japan and the United States. We believe that with maodi's core technology and capabilities, it will become the fastest growing company in the region in the future and bring better prospects to the world.

On December 20, 2006, maodi passed the certification of ISO14001 environmental management system and OHSAS18001 occupational safety and health management system at the same time. It is the first solar cell manufacturing company in Taiwan to pass the two certifications at the same time.

Maodi also passed the verification of TOSHMS Taiwan Occupational Safety and health management system on January 5, 2009.

In 2009, maudi's total output reached 360MW, making it one of the top ten solar cell manufacturers in the world. Maoming (Suzhou) new energy Co., Ltd. in December 31, 2006, Maoming (Suzhou) new energy Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Maoming, was established to further consolidate and expand the Chinese mainland market. Madi (Suzhou) new energy Co., Ltd. is located in the renewable energy industrial base of Kunshan high tech Zone, Jiangsu. The project started in March 2007 and was successfully completed and put into operation in September 2008. By the end of 2009, the production capacity reached 130 MW.

In 2010, the total capacity of maudi solar cells reached a milestone of 1GW. With such proud achievements, maudi has been one of the top ten solar cell manufacturers in the world for many years. In the same year, we started the efficient module production line in the US, Japan and Chinese mainland, and made our customers enjoy the close service and excellent cost advantage in the world wherever they are. In addition, with the advantage of vertical integration, maudi can effectively monitor the quality control of upstream silicon raw materials, solar cells, modules and rectifiers at each stage of the process.
