Gazprom

Russian natural gas industry open joint stock company (LSE: ogzd); Russian: OGA, OGA, Gazprom, Gazprom for short, sometimes transliterated as "gatsplom". It is also the world's largest natural gas mining enterprise, formerly known as Russian national natural gas Konzern. "Gazprom" provides almost all the natural gas needed by central and Eastern Europe and CIS countries.

On November 5, 1992, Yeltsin, then president of Russia, ordered it to be reorganized into a joint stock company. On February 17, 1993, the Russian Council of Ministers specially adopted a resolution to reorganize Russia's national natural gas Konzern into Russia's Natural Gas Industry Corporation.
