Canon brand originated from "Canon preservative film", a kind of polyethylene film used for food packaging, which was launched by CEO David Darroch in the United States in 1963. Douglas g. Taylor was transferred from the United carbide plant in Pittsburgh in the same year to lead the Canon brand project. Mr. Taylor led the sales and marketing of Canon products until he retired from Union Carbide in 1985, after which canon was sold to the brand. Douglas g. Taylor died at Hilton Head on August 13, 1996. The brand originated from United carbide, but was spun off to companies in the United States in 1985. In 2002, Clorox allowed P & G to buy a 10% stake in Canon products, and since then they have jointly operated the brand. Three years later, P & G increased its franchise by 20% under this agreement.
In 1999, Clorox acquired Canon brand and injected its values and corporate culture into canon. In 2001, Gloucester (Guangzhou) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. (formerly Guangzhou Jialiang Chemical Co., Ltd.) became the headquarters of Clorox in China, responsible for Canon's business. Canon, one of the best-selling brands in the world, has a broad market prospect in China. Canon's fresh-keeping products are made of food grade materials and have been certified by QS of China, which is more in line with the standards of FDA. In order to meet the needs of consumers, Canon has been developing new products. Now canon has a series of fresh-keeping films, fresh-keeping bags, sealed bags, aluminum foil, garbage bags and so on in China. It will continue to develop and implement the mission of Clorox - "we make our daily life better".
