In September 2001, Wuxi Suntech Solar Power Co., Ltd. was established.

In September 2002, the first 10 MW production line of Suntech Power was officially put into operation, equivalent to the total output of the first four years in China.

In October 2005, Suntech Power was listed on the New York Stock Exchange, marking the accelerated upgrading of Suntech's internationalization strategy.

In August 2006, Suntech acquired MSK, one of the largest photovoltaic manufacturers in Japan, and ranked first in BIPV. The acquisition will increase Suntech's production capacity to 300MW.

In December 2008, the annual production of Suntech reached 1GW, and Suntech photovoltaic technology research institute was established in the same year.

In August 2009, Suntech made the conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon batteries reach 19.2% and 17.2% respectively with Pluto technology independently developed by Suntech, setting a new world record. In addition, Suntech has established a first-class photovoltaic module laboratory in cooperation with UL.

In December 2011, Suntech's annual production capacity reached 2.4 gigawatts and annual shipment exceeded 2.1 gigawatts, making Suntech the world's first solar module manufacturer in sales for two consecutive years.

In November 2013, Shunfeng International Clean Energy Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 01165. HK) intends to acquire Wuxi Suntech Solar Power Co., Ltd. to provide strong project and financial support for Suntech, which marks the beginning of a new era for Suntech.

In February 2014, Suntech's solar modules sold all over the world exceeded the record of 25000000, with a total of more than 8GW. Shunfeng's shareholders approved the acquisition of Suntech. Since then, Suntech has a reliable capital guarantee and entered the expansion period with a nearly zero debt attitude.
