After 30 years of hard work, DuPont has established more than 40 wholly owned and joint ventures in China, with about 6000 employees and the relocation of many regional business headquarters Chinese mainland. DuPont China R & D center in Shanghai was officially put into operation in 2005, and phase II expansion was completed in 2013. On December 11, 2015, DuPont (NYSE: DD) and Dow Chemical (NYSE: Dow) announced that their boards of directors unanimously approved an equal merger agreement. The merged company will be named "Dow DuPont". The two sides said they would seek to split Dow DuPont into three independent listed companies in the form of tax-free divestiture. Subject to the approval of the regulatory authorities and the board of directors, the split will start as soon as possible and is expected to be carried out within 18-24 months after the completion of the merger.
